Grime Under the Nail - GAS (FL)
Try not to headbang…expert difficulty. Holy moly….that’s what I said (out loud, mind you) when listening to this new drop from one of the heaviest bands in Florida right now.
‘Grime Under the Nail’ is exactly what you crave when it comes to heavy music, and GAS always delivers.
Nasty riffs, gnarly breakdowns, and a sick music video shot at a venue in Lakeland, Florida — GAS is doing everything right when it comes to building a community around what they love. If you’re a fan of Spite, Bodysnatcher, or just feel like opening a personal mosh pit for one in your kitchen this morning, do yourself a favor and spin this track.
Produced by Michael Joseph of No Metaphor Audio, Mixed by Chris Whited of Dead Rabbit Audio, Video by Anthony Gugliotta of 4102 Productions
DETACHMENT - Interlinked
The Texas Metalcore outfit is back with another single off of their upcoming album, RECEDE//COPE. Speaking of bands that give you everything you want, this is another one of those tracks if you’re a fan of melodic, emotional metalcore like I am — think Spiritbox meets old school For the Fallen Dreams & Howard Jones era Killswitch Engage. Seriously, keep an eye out for this band. They’re another one that is doing the right things.
BTW: I just put out on article this week about tools to build a community around your art. I will leave the link at the end of this article.
🔥 Tech
Convex & Work OS
I started pushing code to my startup app, Tourpass, again. Jumping back into it, I reevaluated the tools I was using, and saw an efficiency gap in the backend & authentication/user management. To avoid boring you with technical details, I decided on moving the backend to Convex.
If you’re a tech person, nerd out with me real quick. 🤓 Convex is a backend as a service & document-based database that can be fully managed with Typescript. Developer experience is important to me, and Convex has made my life so much easier when it comes to backend & database structure for this app.
On top of that, Work OS has made authentication & user management easier than ever, and integrates nicely with Convex.
If you’re building software, definitely check out these tools, because I’m shipping code faster than ever thanks to them.

I’m taking a lot more remote meetings these days, and needed a good webcam for the studio computer. I was using my Canon M50 for awhile — however, it does not have clean HDMI output, and it’s really annoying when you’re on a call with a potential new client and you have to keep ‘waking up’ your camera.
With camera quality being a priority to me, I stumbled upon the OBSBot Meet 2 and was blown away with the amount of features that you get at this price point. But the real selling point for me was the size. Smaller than an Airpods case, this cam is so portable, and could be used with my Macbook when I’m on the go or playing Magic on Spelltable with my friends. 🧙♂️
Did You Know? I build websites, apps, and tech tools for creative businesses. If you’re wanting to level up your online presence, reply to this email for a free audit of your website & solutions strategy.
That’s all I got for this Weekly Pull Request. Let’s go ahead and merge this to main.
