Riffs

RECEDE//COPE - Interlinked

Interlinked is back with some more awesome music, this time in the form of a full-length record. Fellow Riffs Code Community member Jordan sent this over to me for early access this week, asking for me to give him some thoughts. Well, here you go brother: This rips.

The Texas metalcore outfit hit a home run on this LP. Chock full of panic chords, bounce riffs, ambient sound design, breakdowns, slam breaks, soaring lead vocals, and menacing screams; RECEDE//COPE has a something for everyone.

What stuck out to me the most though? the RIFFS. Interlinked is not afraid to wear their influences on their sleeve. As a guitar player, I’m nerding out over the tonal qualities of Knocked Loose to Spiritbox, Killswitch Engage, Periphery, Wage War & everything in between.

Overall, this is a must-listen if you are a fan of any of the aforementioned bands, or simply just love a solid metalcore record.

HTML: All the Things

I love a good podcast. I find it to be one of the best mediums for me to consume content & learn while I’m coding or on the go. HTML All the Things was a podcast I stumbled upon a few years ago and it has been a keystone in my growth as a dev. In fact, I probably wouldn’t have started my dev studio if it wasn’t for listening to Matt & Mike.

Content gurus online will tell you until their blue in the face about delivering value to your audience. If that’s the case, then HTML All the Things is dropping literal gold online.

What I love is that just like their intro reel implies, “if you’re a beginner, [they don’t] talk over your head”. It is the only web development podcast I know of that is extremely beginner friendly, but also extremely valuable for highly-experienced devs.

Junior devs, Senior devs, tech enthusiasts, or anyone interested in learning more about web development and entrepreneurship, this is another must listen for you.
